​He received his MFA in Art Video from the Department of Transmedia - College of Visual and Performing Arts - Syracuse University (2007) & his BA in Media Arts from the Media Arts Department - College of Arts and Sciences - New Jersey City University (2003).  Working in both experimental and documentary styles, his video works have been exhibited in galleries and festivals nationally and internationally. 

He was the Assistant Director / Program Coordinator of the Black Maria Film Festival and the New Jersey Young Filmmakers’ Festival in New Jersey (2007-11).  He was also an Adjunct Professor of Video Production I - Media Arts Department - New Jersey City University (2003), Advanced Post-Production Techniques - Department of Transmedia - Syracuse University (2005-06), Foundations of Media Design - Media Arts Department - New Jersey City University (2007-09), and Computer Imaging / Computer 2D Animation I - Visual Art Department - Bergen County Community College (2010-12), and Sound Production I - Media Arts Department - New Jersey City University (2016).

Currently, he is the Tenured Instructor of Cinematography & Film/Video Production, East Brunswick Magnet School - School of the Arts • Middlesex County Magnet Schools (2014-present).  Louis was named Educator of the Year (2022 Honoree) at the prestigious 20th Garden State Film Festival.  He was named 2018-19 Teacher of the Year through the prestigious New Jersey Governor's Educator of the Year Program - New Jersey Department of Education.  He is also a member of the Advisory Board - Thomas Edison Media Arts Consortium (2018-present) and the  New Jersey Young Filmmakers’ Festival Coordinating Committee (2016-present).
